Silverbird

One Album

Rising in the New York City music scene is Silverbird. Founded by charismatic frontman and songwriter Tim Barr comes a life story that includes a stint playing with Lizzy Grant AKA Lana Del Rey in the NYC club scene opening for the likes of The Blow and playing sold out shows at venues in the LES, and in the NYC jazz scene studying and playing with Dizzy Gillespie's longtime pianist and protege Mike Longo. Silverbird represents a startlingly raw new talent. With influences as diverse as Wilco, Heartless Bastards, and Sparklehorse, their music fearlessly treads through an emotional landscape that, combined with infectious melodies and swirling, intricate rhythms, provides an absolutely enchanting first listen. Armed only with basement tapes and rough demos, Tim Barr caught the attention of English producer Kristopher Harris (Smoke Fairies, Story Books, Mathew and the Atlas) and a partnership was formed. Out of this partnership comes Silverbird’s new EP, Surface Life, released in may 2014 to critical acclaim.

Lyrics:

I got a hollow heart in the morning you are a carnival of blue these arms shoot out through the love space I am faking it through Your pain is love and I will collect it Your smile burns electric I stay and care of nothing but you behind my shallow heart I feel Your eyes explode into the moment You are carnival of blue I watch out from underneath it This bodies coming down for you I got a hollow heart in the evening I am faking it through Your body beems out electric You are a carnival of blue

When We Went To The Country Surface Life
02:44

Lyrics:

When we went to the country And you threw up did you feel safe In a castle at the highest tower were you awake When I touched you I could tell you were leaving When I touched you I knew that you were gone Inside the cold sky, you planted your toes in my eye Milkweed and honey, you dreamt myself blind I should have listened when you spoke I should have listened but my ears are broke I should have fixed it but nothing clicked Wasnt long after that women died that you went down on me Crashing into the sea Flames turned to smoke You laughed at my jokes You smiled when I spoke But you turned when I choked And thats when it broke man… Love is a JOKE
